Growing up as a Malaysian Chinese kid, technology always fascinated me. While others saw gadgets as tools for entertainment, I saw them as puzzles waiting to be solved. My curiosity about how things worked, especially in IT, started early on. I remember asking myself, How does a website load? How do computers talk to each other?
Those simple questions sparked what has now become my passion. I dove into networking and IT, learning how systems connect, how data moves, and how networks function. Setting up my first home lab was a big step—a place where I could experiment, break things, and fix them again. That lab became my playground for understanding private DNS resolution, VPNs, and more complex systems.
Now, as I travel around Southeast Asia, I realize that this passion has opened up so many doors for me. With my laptop and a stable internet connection, I can work from anywhere. The dream of becoming a digital nomad is starting to feel closer every day. Tech isn’t just something I do; it’s part of who I am, and this blog is my way of sharing that journey.
So, welcome to backkampung.com. This is where I’ll document my personal thoughts, share IT-related insights, and talk about the challenges and triumphs of my home lab projects. Whether you’re a tech enthusiast or just curious, I hope my journey inspires you to explore the world of IT and maybe, like me, dream of working from anywhere.
